They are two banana connectors joined by a cable. They are utilized to connect minikits that make up a circuit.
Practical note: Every time we make a circuit with cables, it can be very helpful to mark each connection we make with a highlighter to easily identify which connections we are yet to make.
Cuando tenemos dos conexiones en un mismo punto del minikit, se conectan los latiguillos entre sí como se indica en la imagen y se representa la unión en el croquis con un círculo. Si no llegamos a las conexiones con un solo latiguillo, se pueden conectar 2 latiguillos para alargar y tener un latiguillo más largo.
Checking the cables with the multimeter
Turn the knob of the multimeter to Ω to measure resistances.
Check that the cables provide continuity (zero resistance).
If in any case we get a “1”, it indicated that there is no continuity (open circuit) due to the cable not making proper contact with the crocodile clips, or the cable being broken at some point in the interior.
Se puede hacer una tira de varios latiguillos conectados entre sí para comprobar con una sola medida del polímetro que todos los latiguillos interconectados están bien.
También se pueden comprobar los latiguillos seleccionando la función de continuidad (suele estar representada con el símbolo de un diodo y el símbolo de un emisor acústico). Si hay continuidad, el polímetro emite un pitido.
