The electric motor

MOTOR WITH A PUSHBUTTON (FAN)

They work with a 1,5 V battery, and also with 4,5 V and 6 V.

This horizontal assembly is very useful to us when we need a spin that is parallel to the plane of planet Earth.

ENGINE TORQUE: The twisting force a motor produces upon a driveshaft.

RPM: Revolutions per minute, the amount of times the motor turns per minute.

MOTOR CC: A machine that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy through a rotary movement.

While the pushbutton P is pressed, the motor spins. When we stop pressing the pushbutton, the motor slows to a stop.

We can place the propeller or the wheel to simulate a fan or the wheels of a car.

We use 1 battery holder, 2 minikits, and 1 connection cable.

Mark on the scheme each cable that we place.

VARIATION OF VELOCITY OF THE SPIN OF A MOTOR WHEN CHANGING APPLIED VOLTAGE

When point 1 is connected to point 2, when we close the switch S, the motor receives a voltage of 1,5 V, and it will spin with a determined velocity. IF instead, point 1 is connected to point 3, a voltage of 6 V will be applied to the motor, and we can observe that it will spin a lot faster.

We use 2 battery holders, 3 minikits, and 2 connection cables.

Mark on the scheme each cable that we place.

CHANGE OF DIRECTION OF A MOTOR WITH A TWO-WAY SWITCH

When we press the switch, the motor spins with its determined polarity with 4,5 V. If we change the position of the two-way switch, the voltage changes to 1,5 V, and the polarity also changes, inverting the spin direction of the motor.

Application with minikits:

We use 1 battery holder, 3 minikits, and 3 connection cables.

Mark on the scheme each cable that we place.

CHANGE OF DIRECTION OF A MOTOR WITH A TWO-WAY SWITCH

Observe the change of spin direction of the motor.

When we press the switch, the motor spins with its determined polarity with 4,5 V.

If we change the position of the two-way switch, the voltage changes to 1,5 V, and the polarity also changes, inverting the spin direction of the motor.

We use 2 battery holders, 3 minikits, and 3 connection cables.

CHANGE OF DIRECTION OF A MOTOR WITH A LIGHT INDICATOR

CIRCUIT SWITCHING FROM LAMP TO MOTOR

Observe the change of the functionality of the motor in regards to the functionality of the lightbulb.

When we press the switch, the motor activates.

If we change the position of the two-way switch, the motor stops, and the lightbulb turns on.
